Happy 4th of July!!!
It was HOT today (big surprise), but there was so much going on around here that we couldn't just stay home. So we braved the elements and went to see the Freedom Celebration here at Ft. Stewart, which consisted of a 50 gun salute and a show by the Silver Wings Parachute Team
from Ft. Benning. Jak and Kelan were cranky and we were all sweating like crazy, but it was so worth it!
You can barely make out the Blackhawk at the very bottom of this picture that the three Silver Wings had just jumped out of.
Kai got to shake hands with one of the Silver Wings!!
Here's one of 50 canon blasts honoring our United States.
And here's Greta trying to protect Brolin's ears!
Here's a hot and dazed Jak watching on as the blasts just kept coming.
Then it was on to the petting zoo, which had a crazy variety of animals.
look at the little horse!!
Jak LOVED feeding the horse and spent a good amount of time trying to convince me that it would be ok to bring the horsie home to live with us.
Noah was amazed at how soft the sheep's coat was.

Daddy gets to see these things all the time, but it's not every day you see a camel in Georgia.
A tortoise and a llama. You just don't see that very often.
And then, fireworks!!Jak was very very concerned about all the noise. He had no fun at all during our modest fireworks display, and went to bed about five minutes after this picture was taken.
Kai and Noah enjoyed the festivities.
Then we looked in our backyard and this was going on!!
Happy Big Huge Fireworks Right in our Backyard!
