We went to Savannah today to see the sites. Jak really wanted to get out of his stroller.

Kelan wanted more rice krispy treats from the Savannah Candy Shoppe.
Kai had fun.
Here's Kai and mom in a really old stairwell.
We would have gotten more pictures, but our camera battery died. More next time...

pssst! Hey Kelan! are you awake??

Here it was pouring rain and the boys just wanted to stay in the pool. True Georgians that they are, I guess they know our summer rains never last very long...

Palm trees are pretty...

Reading time with daddy is fun.

Jak is such a ham.

Splashy splash fun.

Finally daddy's home to play catch with Kai. Mom kinda throws like a girl.

Shaving with daddy.

Serious, yet adorable.

A day at the beach...

Kelan LOVED the water (which was about as warm as bath water).

Weee!!!

Jak could not want to get in the water...

Kai had a blast digging in the sand...

And Kelan helped.

Jak suddenly decided that he didn't like the beach...the sand felt funny on his feet and he didn't want to fall in the water.

Going to eat at Bubba Garcia's made him very happy!

Kelan had his own bowl of chips (which ended up mostly on the floor...)

And then Jak sauntered off picking his nose.

Here's Jak helping Daddy play a song.

cozy kelan

Kai and his Scrabble tiles...

Lil' Richard Simmons here, with some impromptu jumping jacks.

Welcome Home Daddy!

So what if it's 12:30 am? Daddy's coming home!!!

Final formation after 14 months away from home. God bless all these soldiers and their families for their sacrifice.

Finally!!!

Precious.
Kelan wasn't sure what to think...up after midnight, meeting daddy once again. Lucky for us all, this will be the last reunion!

Happy 4th of July!!!

It was HOT today (big surprise), but there was so much going on around here that we couldn't just stay home. So we braved the elements and went to see the Freedom Celebration here at Ft. Stewart, which consisted of a 50 gun salute and a show by the Silver Wings Parachute Team
from Ft. Benning. Jak and Kelan were cranky and we were all sweating like crazy, but it was so worth it!

You can barely make out the Blackhawk at the very bottom of this picture that the three Silver Wings had just jumped out of.

It was so cool to watch them land right on target.
Kai got to shake hands with one of the Silver Wings!!

Here's one of 50 canon blasts honoring our United States.

And here's Greta trying to protect Brolin's ears!

Here's a hot and dazed Jak watching on as the blasts just kept coming.

Then it was on to the petting zoo, which had a crazy variety of animals.

look at the little horse!!

Jak LOVED feeding the horse and spent a good amount of time trying to convince me that it would be ok to bring the horsie home to live with us.

Noah was amazed at how soft the sheep's coat was.

Daddy gets to see these things all the time, but it's not every day you see a camel in Georgia.

A tortoise and a llama. You just don't see that very often.

And then, fireworks!!Jak was very very concerned about all the noise. He had no fun at all during our modest fireworks display, and went to bed about five minutes after this picture was taken.
Kai and Noah enjoyed the festivities.

Then we looked in our backyard and this was going on!!

Happy Big Huge Fireworks Right in our Backyard!
