Thanks for tagging me Sarah! It was fun to go back and look at old pics!
This picture was taken the day Kelan sat up for the first time, right after Craig left for Iraq the last time. What a little cutie he was! It's so amazing to see how much he has changed...So anyway, I'm tagging anyone who looks at this (jenne, dad, jessica, marcy...) go and find your 6th photo folder and 6th picture and post it. I'm sure you'll have as much fun as I did!!Wednesday, May 27, 2009

Kelan was being unusually quiet so I went to investigate and this is what I found...
My, Kelan, what shiny cheeks you have.
The man won't need lotion for some time. And I'm fearful of the diapers I might encounter in the near future.
Lesson: Never leave Vaseline within reach of a curious two-year old.
One thing about living in SE Arizona is that when we decide to go find something fun to do for the family, we can drive not too far in just about any direction and find a fun and unique opportunity. To celebrate the end of Kai's school year, we went back to Bisbee to go to the Queen Mine Tour. We also went to the Copper Queen Hotel for lunch.
Historic Downtown Bisbee
Jak rocking out to Boston on the drive there.
B is for Bisbee.
Another view of downtown.
Kelan decided to help out the wait staff at the Copper Queen by redistributing the mustard among the tables.
Kai being a goofball; Kelan saying "here birdie!"
Such a handsome man...
Me looking on nervously as Kelan arranges the chairs and condiments.
Here we are! Kai and I came to this mine tour while visiting Craig at AIT in April of 04. It doesn't seem like it could have been that long ago...
Miner Dad
Miner Jak
So exciting!!
Here's Kai in the crowd listening to the tour guide. We rode on a little train 1500 feet into the mine, stopping twice to get off and explore. Even though it was in the mid-70's outside, it was 47 degrees in the mine. The wood beams supporting the mine are from Douglas Firs, mostly from Oregon, and have been in place for over 80 years.
It proved to be all too exciting for Kelan, who sacked out half way through. Personally, I think it looks like Craig rescued Kelan from the mine.
Aw man! It was too much fun for Jak too!

So, here is a very grumpy Jak this morning when I told him that we had to brush his hair, which is a huge ordeal every morning, but necessary to prevent dreadlocks.
Here is a happier Jak, who has finally agreed that it might be time for a haircut.
Here is an ecstatic Jak about to get a haircut.
And a slightly dazed Jak right after his haircut, chillin at the food court.
and here is a very very happy Jak, looking awesome with his new haircut.
Fozzie says hi.
and he still has those curls!

Jak is one happy fire fighter!
Thumbs up!
This next series is what happens at dinner when Kelan skips his nap.
Jak rocks the occasional ponytail.
Sleepyhead.
Kelan is such a help with the dishes. Notice the bangs.
Voila! No more hair in eyes. Kelan got his first trim.
Sometimes nothing can top a corn dog in the pool.
