Jak's 1st day of Kindergarten

Kelan was so happy to have some Mommy time while Jak was at school. And yes, that's vaseline on his forehead. Don't ask.
The studious one.
Carolina Beach Elementary School is awesome...complete with murals of lighthouses...
Jak pointing out his name.
He's the man...
Peace out.
Of course we had a photo op on the porch before we left....
wondering how many pictures I'm gonna take...
Ready to go...
I love this boy.
Can't believe how quickly the time goes by... Seems like just yesterday he was a toddler... Also hard to get my head around how blessed I am to have such awesome boys.

The Many Faces of Kelan

Kickin back with some tunes.
We were gonna take a sweet picture to email to daddy. This was the best one. Kelan does not do well saying "cheese" these days.
Chillin.
Barry Gibb hair.
"Kelan, say cheese!"
"Say cheese, Kelan!"
"Art Girl" pose.
*We have an Art Deco coffee table book that has a painting of a teacher that freaks the boys out. They like to take turns posing like "Art Girl" as they call her. It is amusing.
Isn't he cute?
Me & Kelan after a long run.
Kelan telling Jak (awesome photographer) that it was "SO HOT!!!"
He's just such a charmer! :)
Kai striking a pose. Work it, work it...
Ok, folks, this is seriously BIG news. Jak "fell off the step" at the hot tub when we were at Hilton Head Island in 2008 ( "fell off the step" is in quotations because I have heard Jak, recounting the incident, say "I fell off the step" one million times--if you know Jak, there's a good chance he's told you himself). Since then has been terrified of putting his face in the water. He decided a few weeks back to try putting his face in the water in the bathtub, and after about a week of that, we head to the pool and he jumps straight in and starts swimming like a fish. GO JACKSON!!!!
I am so proud of him! He does a mean cannonball too...

Sweet sweet brothers.
It's all just too hilarious.

There was a ton of food at the potluck that followed Lifepoint's beach baptism yesterday, and based on his excitement level, I'm convinced Jak snuck a few Mt. Dews and at least a dozen cookies.

High tide leaves perfect puddles for kid-boarding.

A beautiful end to a wonderful day... Have I mentioned I love living on the beach?
:)

Jak is such a helper... he's the best plant waterer ever.
Last week we took a trip downtown- see the Battleship in the background. We hadn't yet indulged in the delights of Kilwin's Ice Cream, and the smell of the freshly made waffle cones made us stop...

Kelan was VERY serious about his ice cream cone.

Seriously serious.

Ok, this one is not so serious.
I don't even know what to say.

And later, Kelan put himself to sleep looking at a picture of himself asleep.
