This makes me smile and cry at the same time. Kai had an amazing time this week at camp. He had his heart broken for those less fortunate and was simultaneously filled up with inspiring and life giving messages from some absolutely amazing youth leaders...I am so grateful that he was able to go and I'm also a little bit jealous, because it seems that he had such an amazing time... But, really the brother reunion was pretty special...These pictures absolutely melt my heart.

Fourth of July week
Ok- last week Craig had a birthday, he and I went surfing for the first time (and second, and third) and we got to enjoy fireworks on the beach. Not a terrible week.
Carolina beach state park
We live less than a mile from a beautiful state park with amazing hiking trails and beaches. We took a family hike recently, and almost made it home without anyone complaining about how hot it was...
Myrtle Beach trip
We got to tag along with Craig, who had mandatory training in Myrtle Beach a few weeks ago..it was a week of sunshine and fun, and such an unexpected blessing to have a "free" vacation. Here's some pics from our trip.
Probably my favorite moment of the trip...
Lego World at Broadway by the Beach= boy heaven.
14th story oceanfront? Sure!!
Free admission to Wild Waves & Wheels? Why not?
Morning quiet time.
Organized pool activities daily...
Some necessary chill time.
Snacks and lazy rivers.
Tie-dye shirts...
Jak went for a 2.1 mile run with me on the beach. Tough guy...
You HAVE to go to Planet Hollywood when you go to Myrtle Beach... :)
Jak jak
Just an quick update on jak- He is a fan of playing music... and he likes to play dress up at the museum...and he was baptized recently...So, yup, he is pretty much awesome.

Kai wears a suit...
After much debating, Kai and his buddies decided to go to 8th grade formal...I had no idea putting a suit on would suddenly turn Kai into a supermodel. I should have known...it IS Kai, after all. Here he is with his good buddy Mason right before the dance...watch out ladies...

Okay, so I've been busy. I have so poorly neglected this blogspot, and my camera for that matter...instead doing things like "work" and "singlehandedly wrangling these three boys since Craig was gone for the first quarter of 2012". Recently for "work" I dug out the ol' trusty Canon Rebel xTi to take some pictures of a Ferrari I'm selling for my boss, and then Kelan turned into a ham (much to my surprise and amazement given his previous relationship with the camera). Enjoy, and if you are in the market, it's a reasonably priced $134, 488, with just 15,000 miles, and meticulously maintained.
Here's what happens when Kai tells the boys to "look tough".
Here they take turns beating each other up. All in good fun, of course.
Oh, the goofiness.
See what I mean about the ham-ness? Keep looking...it get's even better.
Peek-a-boo.
Credit goes to Kai for these last few pictures. Quite an eye if I do say so myself.
What a handsome 5-and-almost-a-half-year-old.
More to come. I promise.
